Melanie Parry was born in Sydney, and is proud of her Australian heritage. Starting in show business at the age of eleven, appearing on the Nine Networks "Skeeter" as part of the children's group "Daffodil Junior Australians". This involved touring NSW with the song & dance troupe, and appearing every Royal Easter Show at the Daffodil Theatre.

Acting took over in her teens, at the tender age of thirteen. Musical theatre shows followed, when an opportunity came in Melanie's late teens, to develop an unusual talent for a budding young singer and actress, by becoming a 'ventriloquist', performing as a children's entertainer, on T.V. and many shows around the country for the Westfield chain, with her character called 'Willy' the crocodile.

Melanie decided to leave Australia at the age of twenty-three with Europe calling to pursue her singing career overseas, where a large segment of her professional career was spent living in the UK, and performing in many major venues in England, Scotland, Wales, France and Malta, experiencing enormous success as a show singer. Whilst in Europe, she was also able to fulfil a childhood dream of residing for a time in the beautiful city of Nice, on the Cote d'Azur, (Riviera of France), performing and embracing the culture, learning to sing in French, Italian & Spanish to enhance her performances.

A most talented and accomplished vocalist (coloratura soprano) formally trained, with an impressive range, Melanie delivers with her own unique style, the songs from the musicals -   Les Miserables,  Cabaret,  Phantom of the Opera,  Cats,   Mack & Mabel,  Sunset Boulevarde,  Jekyll & Hyde,  La Cage Aux Folles to name but a few,  even light Opera.

Melanie, not only possesses a powerful voice, of great versatility, unique in style and range, enthralling & astounding her audiences, but also enhances her performance with her glamorous looks, beautiful costumes and vivacious personality. Melanie is regarded as one of Australia’s finest female vocalists, sophisticated, polished and a true performer of 'diva status'.

Melanie has been the subject of many glowing critiques throughout her career.
The following gives a firm indication of the high regard held of Melanie in the U.K:

“Next on the bill was glamorous Australian-born songstress Melanie Parry, who is currently wowing Welsh and West Country audience with her unique singing style. Looking sensational in a glittering silver outfit, the personality plus songbird was at her best in Beverley Craven’s moving number Promise Me, and a medley of well known love songs”
Derek Wayland – Bristol. U.K. (The Stage & Television Today, London)

"Melanie is known as Australia’s ‘Judy Garland’, presenting a sensational show called “JUDY”, The Judy Garland Story In Song Show, which takes the audience on a journey through Judy’s life of triumphs and tragedies. Melanie has already performed the show twice in the entertainment capital of the world -
 “Las Vegas”, USA.

Now also presenting a great musical tribute called 'The Magic of Dame Vera Lynn',  taking you back to the time when Vera Lynn was the Forces Sweetheart during World War II. Superbly recreating the music and sound of Vera Lynn.

With Melanie’s remarkable voice and talent she is able to recreate and capture the voices of these two great singers.
